Brooke emailed me after finding my website. Her story will be added to it here: http://www.myimplantstory.com/stories.html:
She had saline implants in March 2007. They got hard, she started getting rashes, she lost a lot of hair, and continued getting worse from there. She is only 23 years old - and a very smart girl for finding a great credible surgeon to do her explant. She also has a new outlook on inner beauty that I really admire and will strive to adhere to. I pray that Brooke keeps getting better and is another voice out there for young women. Here is her story:
"Hello to all you beautiful 'Naturale' ; ) women out there who have been in my shoes! My name is Brooke and I was also one of the unfortunate ladies out there to make the horrible mistake of getting breast implants, not knowing what could happen, the bad, the ugly! Of course my Surgeon didn't pre-warn me what could happen, the possible side affects(hmm wonder why? cha ching is why, pretty sad!) But so then I suffered for almost 2 years! I had some of the worse allergic reactions-Hair Loss(and I mean chunks of hair! and breakage, some were only 3-4 inches long!!, and I always had long pretty hair, now it's very thin, "see thru" and I'm praying it'll all grow back and I'll get the thickness back ; ( ), Rashes/Skin Irritations/Severe Dry Skin/Breakouts(horrible ones on my chest and back and just more breakouts and very dry skin on my face, and before I always felt soo blessed b/c I had very nice skin, rarely ever a breakout on my face and never ever one on my chest or back! ; ( ) 'Foggy Memory'(just felt 'blah' alot, not able to concentrate, forgetting stuff etc and before, I always had a great memory, could memorize things easily and definitely didn't feel soo 'clouded in my mind') Muscle Aches/Pains/Numbness(I'd just have muscle pains like no other, from head to toe and numbness in various spots but mainly all down my back, and I've never had that before in my life!) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(very tired all the time, lacked energy)....So ya, it's been very miserable to put it lightly! I finally on Friday February 20th 2008 got the darn toxic balloons taken out!!(explantation surgery)and I went to a highly recommended Doctor in Cleveland, well Pepper Pike, Ohio, named Dr. Lu-Jean Feng and omg!! She's incredible, I can't even explain how amazing this Doctor is, and her staff!! She is one of the few in this world to be very skilled in Explantation surgery, she uses the En Bloc Technique which is crucial, it has got to be done this way, meaning everything is taken out, the implants, scar tissue and the capsules which are around the implants. So anyone looking for a wonderful Doctor who knows what she's doing, Dr. Feng is the one!!! Well, it's been almost 4 weeks, and I'm doing great, I felt better right after they were taken out, but everyday i'm only getting better and feeling better ; )...it's still gonna take some time though, my rash on my back is still there, getting a little better though, but I didn't expect it to go away real quick...but ya, I just wanna say, to all you women out there who are thinking of getting implants, please please don't do it! Accept the way God made you, perfect in His image, yes we're gonna have flaws but that's what makes us Beautiful and Unique ; ) Don't make the mistake I did, please ;( I've asked for forgiveness countless times for ever doing that to my body and I've just prayed for the 'Old Me' back ; )...the way God created me. Don't let magazines, tv, all the ads etc make you think you gotta be this or gotta have large breasts etc to be beautiful! Beauty is only skin deep. Outter beauty means nothing, it's the inside that counts...you might be drop dead gorgeous on the outside, with the "perfect body" etc BUT if you're ugly on the inside, then that makes you an ugly person regardless of the "DD's" hah or whatever it may be. So all you Naturale ladies out there, YOU GO GIRLS!! You are Beautiful!!! Thank you Gretchen for all your kindness, compassion, and just inspiring me...Bless your heart, you're a beautiful woman inside and out ; ) God Bless. Love Always, Brooke *If anyone needs to talk or needs some advice or have a prayer request or is interested in knowing more about Doctor Lu-Jean Feng, feel free to email me anytime...the door is open ; ) it's dncnbrooke@aol.com)"
