Hi Angelee,

Just saying that if I were you I'd run from these surgeons fast as you can.   They may be a very good surgeons but not for removal of implants--especially textured.  You may have read that the  textured-shell silicone implants are now being linked for women developing a rare form of cancer. It's called Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma -- or ALCL. The FDA says at least 60 women with saline or silicone-gel filled implants have had ALCL. But, the FDA investigation is very, general and most women do not report these things to the FDA so the numbers are not nearly what is going on and more research needs to be done.   I was told by one of my plastic surgeons in Michigan years ago that it was too dangerous to remove the capsule, but later I found out that this was not true and most of the capsule could be removed.  Women have this done everyday and it's perfectly safe.  I had a double radical mastectomy with no tissue remaining and they were still able to get about 98 percent of the capsule out in another surgery.   Trust me, it's best to do it right the first time around and save yourself all the emotional/physical and financial expenses.
It's a major decision, but to me it was worth the risk and I'm glad that I did it as I don't have to worry about health problems later.   Be sure to check out our Silicone and Saline library as there is a ton of information showing that textured-shell implants are dangerous.   The shell breaks down and sloughs off into the capsule and that shouldn't be left behind in a human body.   Be sure to check out the articles about what it did to the poor test rats.    The en boc surgery is not dangerous!!  Yes, it has risks like any surgery,  but a skilled plastic surgeon does this all the time.   A skilled surgeon that cares and respects human rights (and not fiances)  will gladly do this surgery correctly.
