Hi Alice. I'm so glad you talked to your mum. Having the in-person support helps so much, not just emotionally but going easy on yourself physically is much better for the recovery. and don't beat yourself up. People make mistakes. And if you ever feel that guilt creeping back, just remind yourself of the lesson you've learned. You really will love yourself afterwards.

I will second the pillow advice. I have a huge beanbag pillow that I used when I slept. I couldn't comfortably lie on my side for a few weeks, so it was lovely to have that. A v shaped pillow will be good for you also, and those don't cost a lot either.

When you have your implants out, you'll immediately notice the weight difference. Mine were very large, and once the tight scars had loosened up a bit, I found myself walking with my shoulders back for the first time in years. Such a lovely feeling. And all my clothes fit better.

In the weeks before your surgery, just be as kind to yourself as possible. Take it easy and get a lot of rest. You're allowed to be pampered right now. :0)
