Hey there Lynn...I am sorry that you are feeling disappointed. From my personal experience, I understand the emotional impact of having asymmetrical breasts; because that is one of the reasons I originally consulted a plastic surgeon. He suggested implants (silicone) with two different sizes to give me symmetry. I asked about making the larger breast smaller to match; and he said that I wouldn’t want to deal with that much surgery/scarring. It seemed like a good choice at the time, but having implants has cost me dearly. Now, after my explant surgery, I have the asymmetry again. However, each time I notice the difference in my breasts, I feel a deep sense of relief. My breasts are mine...and I am not carrying around two foreign, toxic objects in my body.
Lynn, I am not trying to minimize your emotional pain, I know this adjustment time is difficult...the healing journey can feel overwhelming at times. On a physical level, your body needs time to heal, readjust, your original breast tissue has to fluff out, and this all takes time. For some of us, it takes a bit longer.
You are wise to reach out and share these feelings with women who have lived through a similar experience. We are here for you.
Glad to see that Rosie is going to help you with the photos.
I am sending you healing thoughts,
Aida
