Hey there Lynn,

Welcome!!

Congratulations on moving forward with your decision and setting a date. A woman's intuition is powerful, and it seems as though yours is speaking to you. I had my explant almost nine months ago. Prior to the surgery, I experienced intermittent fear about my after-surgery appearance. Let's face it, humans don't like change; especially when it involves our appearance. However, there is so much potential positive with life after implants. For instance, in May I will be having my first mammography in almost 30 years without the fear that the procedure will break an implant, improved health, the freedom to hug someone without inwardly cringing, the wonderful light feeling of not having something foreign inside my body, and the list just goes on and on. I love being the strong, healthy, compact person that I was meant to be. That said, I am not trying to minimize the swell of feelings, fears, and doubts that naturally occur. I had plenty of them!! The healing process takes a bit of courage and a lot of patience.

You are not alone...ask any question...because it is the unanswered ones that tend to increase our anxiety.

Emot-big-hug-1Sending you a big hug!
